So I’m hella upset today at work and I started listening to my “calm down” playlist in my iTunes. One song struck me and I’ve been playing it on repeat for a while now. I decided to translate it here for you.
Lucybell – Mirate en mi
see yourself in me |
|
en dos palabras creo ser
el que demora el paso como el sol
dias
cuando te abres veo la luz
la que demora cuando debe iluminar
dias
siente mi alma muda
siente que no se nada
en dos palabras creo ser
el que se quiebra cuando ve gritar
vida
cuando me crees veo la luz
la que demora cuando debe iluminar
vidas
siente mi alma muda
siente que no se nada
yo veo magia atenta
mírate en mi
siente mi alma muda
soy un payaso-niño
mírame
|
in two words, I believe I am
the one who delays the way like the sun
days
when you open yourself, i see the light
the one that delays when it should illuminate
days
feel my soul muted
I feel that I don’t know anything
in two words I believe I am
the one who breaks when he sees screams
life
when you believe me I see light
the one that delays when it should illuminate
lives
feel my soul muted
I feel that I don’t know anything
i see attempted magic
see yourself in me
feel my soul muted
I’m a boy-clown
look at me

another song’s lyrics translated
I’m going to translate for you the pseudo quasi-obsessive lyrics of Zoé’s
song Miel. Barely made use of Diccionarios.com
because the words are pretty easy.
| Zoé – Miel |
|

don’t know but it hurts to understand
how it was that we ended [broke up]
the laughter stayed behind,
full of dust and red tears
kiss me with your eyes of honey
that speak to me of a world I don’t know anymore
talk to me about yourself, don’t leave me alone,
I want to discover
why I’m so afraid of love.
I lost the dolphin’s route,
I dreamt I was dead,
later I was able to revive,
I was alone on a boat of fire.
talk to me about yourself, don’t leave me alone,
I want to discover
why I’m so afraid of love.
you can talk to me about yourself,
so that I won’t feel alone anymore
fear of love
fear of death
[fear of] the liberty.

This sounds to me like a song of obsessive love with a sprinkling of self-discovery. The singer is afraid of being alone and when he is alone–in his dreams–he seems to feel tortured and facing death “on a boat of fire.” But he knows he’s afraid of being alone and asks ‘her’ to talk to him about herself, about anything to help him find out why he’s afraid. He’s basically afraid of the free feeling of being alone: “fear of liberty.” What an interesting song!

my translation of a song’s lyrics
I’m going to translate for you the lovely lyrics of Zoé’s
song Frio which I kind of don’t understand so sometimes going from spanish to english helps me a bit. Major use of Diccionarios.com
on this one.
(I hope to do their song Polar also. I’ve already translated their song Love which makes great use of imagery. I mean I can just picture an anemone of light!)

aliento de bélico acento.
demonios de una polución.
sirena colgada del cielo.
revolver pornográfico.
superhipnotizadores pájaros invertebrados son.
noticiero diferido, transmisiones invertidas.
frío, frío cuando me hablas,
frío cuando tus ojos creen que debo ser como tu crees que es mejor vivir y ser.

breath of military accent.
demons of a pollution.
mermaid hanged from the sky.
pornographic revolver.
(they) are super-hypnotizer invertebrate birds.
deferred news (bulletin), inverted transmissions
cold, cold when you talk to me,
cold when your eyes believe that I should be how you believe it is better to live and be.

Ok, I still don’t know what to make of that. He sees in his mind awful images of the world ending with military taking over (perhaps causing it) and gets mixed messages from society (inverted transmissions). Someone, I’m going to assume a ‘girlfriend,’ isn’t much help either. She is distant and wants to define who he should be and how he should live his life.

My translation of one of my favorite songs.
I found the lyrics to a song I love! The artist is Zoé and the song is called Love.
| Zoé – Love |
|
Love, love, love.

In your planet I remained,
Was for a time and it was never my plan,
But my ship was damaged
and now I am lost here,
In mornings with three suns
and multiple visions, transparent mountains, anemones of light,
Particles of love and memories of you.
Love, love, love.

I just thought that was so beautiful.
