my fears

completely valid, though irrational they may be

At night, when I sleep alone when Tino works 2nd shift I usually fall asleep with the lamp on. Why? Because I’m afraid of the dark. I really, seriously think that the demon-possessed Regan open link in new window is hiding in the dark and about to jump on me from behind.

Now since I am an adult I know in my mind that this is not true. However, try telling that to the part of my mind that lets my fears get the best of me. Lately though I have left the speakers open link in new window on so that the little blue light can be my nightlight. Here’s the confusing part, I have to sleep with a sleeping mask on so that means I need complete darkness to sleep. Wierd huh?

chicago crime website

A lovely website that’s full of info

The ChicagoCrime.org open link in new window website is a lovely combination of Google Maps open link in new window and Chicago’s own Citizen ICAM open link in new window.

ChicagoCrime.org gives you the same information what the Citizen ICAM does but it’s laid out with a cleaner look and uses Google’s maps. Searching for how to add a Google Map to any website I found this page: Google Maps Standalone Mode open link in new window.

I love that I live in this day and age. I truly want to live for a long time just to be there to witness all the new things that people come up with. Just look at this new device coming out later this year, the Nokia 770 open link in new window which is a tablet strictly for the Internet and other such stuff (it has no keyboard). It’s hot! The Sony PSP open link in new window is hot right now but it doesn’t go online, it has Wi-Fi so you can play with other players wirelessly but that’s it.

What I want is a device just like the Sony PSP and add to it internet browsing capabilities and have it be a cell phone too. Yeah, that’d be great. I’d give up something for that. I don’t know what, but something.

material girl

With material needs, but I also want to grow & stuff

I’m torn. I’m really having a problem here. There’s a new Coach purse that I want (Signature Scarf Print Mini Hobo open link in new window). This new purse will match almost any outfit and that’s why I love it.

My style in the winter is always a black Coach purse. Always. In the spring and summer, however, I buy a few cheap, trashy purses that I can switch according to my outfit. The new scarf print purse is perfect for the summer. It has a white background with the following colors in a beautiful pattern: teal, pink, red, green and purple. It looks georgeous. There is only one thing stopping me from buying it. No, not the price. It has gold metal pieces (zipper, tassle, strap rings).

fairies, strawberries and pizza

sounds yummy!

I had an experience this morning where I got off the bus in front of this other woman who had her kid in front of her using the kid as an arrow to where she was heading. I saw her try to get in front of me but slowly and I was standing up in front of my seat. Faster than she was, I walked in front of her, thanked the driver (which I always do  ) and got off the bus. Meanwhile the woman is all in a tiff and yelling about how “some people” are.

Pfftt! Like I’m going to let her ruin my fabulous day! I’m dressed to the nine’s today because we’re having good weather. I have on my cutest new sky blue and white mules, my beige capris, a beige sleeveless blouse, and a white with blue stripes three-quarter sleeve jacket with an orange flower (got a visual now? ). Whatevs, I wasn’t going to try and argue with her. I can get pretty worked up with strangers, with friends I just say, “Chill out”.

mom’s day

Holiday made me sick.

Mother’s Day gave me a cold with a very sore throat but at least I had a fun time at the party my mom threw on Saturday and Sunday.

Here’s a thumbnail that you can click to view a larger version of me with my small family.
