i had a dream

an animal dream

Last night one of my dreams involved many animals and a central theme. This guy from work and I were in a barn with his baby (he has kids but not a baby) and two horses. He would have the horses lie on their backs and he’d put his baby in between the two horses. He kept wanting to have me take a picture but the horses wouldn’t last long on their backs and stand up again. I was scared for his baby, but he seemed fine with it. After putting the horses on their backs again, he sat in between them with his baby and my dog sat there too. But the horses were scared of my dog and almost kicked her while trying to get up yet again.

So then I left and was walking down the sidewalk on the way to my home and was frightened by a platypus carrying her egg in her mouth flying right by my head. She landed on a tree that looked like a big succulent but it had more trunk than leaves and it wasn’t very tall. The bark was very thin, like potato skin. A lizard with feathers who lived on the tree tried to scare the platypus away and after several attempts the platypus buried her egg inside one of the succulent leaves. I was able to see the egg being pushed into the green aloe-like material inside the leaf. Then I visualized the platypus eggs hatching and being overtaken by the lizard babies also hatching at the same time.

Finally I walked over to my home and it was night time. In the sky there was a fireworks show and I sat in the front lawn with another co-worker (who appeared out of nowhere) to take in the show. I had to be careful though because the sparks from the fireworks would fall and slightly burn my skin, like those sparklers you burn on Indepedance Day. Some of the fireworks would actually fly down and around my head then go back up to the sky; this entertained me greatly.

I gather that the theme of my dream, in the first to parts, was mainly babies in danger of their surroundings. The second part I have no idea what that could ever mean. It was a great dream tho.
