people I hate

Just an FYI, you’re ok.

I don’t like people that dominate the conversation. All they talk about is themselves and their lives. There’s this one person I know who does this; I’m going to call this person ‘tree.’ Whenever tree is around, tree always finds a way to become the focus of the conversation. Always. You could be talking about serpentine lava flow that melted your eyebrows (ha!), and tree would say, “that’s funny because this one time…”

Not only would tree begin to dominate the conversation, but tree would also stall the story until everyone was paying attention and continue telling the story with more animation and excitement. One time, I had a side conversation at a low voice with someone in the group and it was funny how tree would pick up on this and become subtly annoyed. People are weird sometimes and I love to watch them being weird.

This other type of person that annoys me is a whiner, specifically a full-blown adult whiner. Now, yes, I admit, I do whine to a certain degree. Everyone does one time or another. I think it’s human nature. But to go on and on about how you want a balloon or something and ask every single person you see to get you a balloon and then get upset with them the next time you see them because they didn’t get you a balloon. I mean, my GOD! Shut UP!!

I hope my kids don’t become whiners. My husband says I’m going to be an awfully strict mom, but that’s ok because he’s kind of lax. My parents are exactly the same, it’s kinda funny how my marriage reflects my parents’ marriage. My in-laws are reverse and to the 10th degree, the dad is overly strict and the mom still washes her sons’ clothes and sometimes even cuts their food for them! It’s true, I’ve seen it. She might be doing it to make up for the dad’s emotional distance and strict persona. But the kids are adults, so… I think it’s wrong.

  2. You’re so right! Sometimes I have to assert myself and say, “wait! let me finish!” But I say it with a smile. It only works sometimes.
