Google and comment spam
Why didn’t anyone think of this before?
Google has come up with a way of preventing comment spam and I think it’s about time. Well, not like I get a lot of comment spam here, but I think it’s a great idea. Many of the top blog app makers are signing on too. The basic idea is that any comment left on your blog will receive the attribute:
rel="nofollow"
When the Googlebot crawls your comments, any links with that attribute will not be followed. Comment spammers will catch on and move on; most likely finding other ways to annoy us.
