video rental weekend

This weekend my hubby’s working…

This weekend my hubby’s working 2nd-shift so I’m going to rent some movies that I’ve never seen and watch ‘em at night. I’m going to rent: “Memento” and “Donnie Darko“. I’m also going to get my hair done on Sunday, my roots are showing like some trashy girl *shivers*. Well, it’s not painfully obvious, but still…

Ok, there’s a bug in…

Ok, there’s a bug in IE that appears when you try to highlight text on a page laid out with absolute positioning in CSS that highlights text all weird. Here’s a way to fix that, read Bo-IE6-Selecta. Oh, and the CSS Zen Garden link at the bottom of the entry does crash IE. Very weird, but it’s to be expected of that craptacular browser.

A vulnerability has been found in Mozilla browsers and you can find out more by reading this advisory: Mozilla / Mozilla Firefox “onunload” SSL Certificate Spoofing. Mozilla has fixed this issue but has yet to release the fix to the public. This posting on mozillaZine sheds more light on the issue: Flaws in Mozilla’s Handling of Security Certificates Discovered and Fixed.

Really quickly: you don’t need all these honking lines of code to embed Flash swfs into HTML pages. Just a few lines of code will do: Flash Embedded in HTML.

And finally, a pretty thing is Born Magazine which combines “literary arts and interactive media”.

Enjoy!

big weekend

Let’s see, where to begin.…

Let’s see, where to begin. Saturday hubby and I went to visit his one cousin that was in a car accident. (Turns out his son sees his grandmother who passed away in a grocery store. *shiver* But I’m thinking, why would she be in a store? Guess she’s keeping an eye on her grandkids. *double shiver*) We took him our PlayStation 2 so he could have something to do since he can’t work for about three months or so. His wife is much better, she got her memory back. There’s a lawsuit pending since it was seven people in the van and his mom died; plus him and his wife can’t work. After that we went to see a three-flat that’s on sale and we might go halves with a good friend to buy it and rent it out. Let the rent pay the mortgage and sit back and let it accumulate value. Nothing like building equity!

hola

Sorry I’ve been too busy…

Sorry I’ve been too busy to post my thoughts. I’ve been so busy at work with the nit-picky bastards and the FrontPage crappiness and the KVM switch crashing the PC and ExactTarget’s bleeding spectacular crappiness. I’m about to die over here!

And on top of all that, I have a project to do for one of the big cheese head honcho guys at work. It’s due tomorrow and I’ve gotten next to nothing to work with. I’ve gotten 1 thing, 1 thing only. Why do people think that it’s easy-peasy to do web work? There is no magic export button that I click that can layout images, add copy, style everything, and make it look perfect in all browsers on all platforms!! GAH!!!

fun weekend

I had a fun weekend…

I had a fun weekend with events on both days. Saturday was a get-together at my friend Sapna’s house before she leaves to San Fransisco, CA. We know each other from school so I got to see a few friends from school and left with the promise of seeing each other again. My hubby and I had fun and met some great people. It was just as she said, “great friends and good food!” The food was better than good, I haven’t eaten too much Indian food and it was a great having another taste!

On Sunday I went to a small barbecue at my husband’s aunt’s house. It wasn’t anything special but it was nice to see family. I got some advice on whether to have my children via a natural birth or get the epidural. I’m still on the fence.
