This weekend was a blockbuster weekend, and we rented two flix and one stand-up show: 28 days later, The Core and Martin Lawrence’s Runteldat.
As far as which one I liked the best, it’d have to be 28 days later then The Core but Runteldat gets a thumbs-down. It wasn’t as funny as his earlier stand-up shows I’ve seen.
But 28 days later was great; it was well-balanced with beautiful scenery and gory violence. The chick at blockbuster said it “was boring,” it wasn’t; see, I think of it as being balanced with quiet moments then suspenseful action. It really showed you these people stuck with each other trying to survive and how human they are. Then it shocked you with the infected people who were so animal and savage. Plus the fact that the infection was so quick, so brutal.
Now on to The Core, which was like Armeggedon in that bad things keep happening. I think I liked the beginning of the movie more cuz of all the odd things that occur because the earth’s core stops spinning. But the journey to the center was not as spectacular as I thought it would be. You’d think it’d be more dangerous than it was shown in the movie. And I didn’t really feel for the characters except the weapons specialist cuz he hadda family.
Finally Runteldat wasn’t that funny to me so… that’s all.
In other news, Ima try to knit this little project: a raspberry shawl. It’s basically a baby blanket with a nice edge. :p
